Provenance Verifier

AI Detector for PDF

This isn't a statistical guess. It's a provenance audit: we check the C2PA/SynthID cryptographic credential before any probabilistic signal, and we never let stylometry alone decide a strong result.

L1 (C2PA/SynthID) is required for strong signals
5 analysis layers, each with a defined role
Report with verifiable hash and timestamp

Sample reportMODERATE SIGNALS

Moderate signals. There are indications of AI but also human patterns. Manual analysis of highlighted passages is recommended.

EU AI Act Article 50

Since August 2, 2026, generative AI providers in the European Union are required to mark their output in a machine-readable way. The AI Detector checks exactly for that mark when it exists, and is honest about the limits when it doesn't.

Provenance Verifier

What the AI Detector actually checks

Three different roles, each with its own weight in the final result.

01

Primary

Cryptographic provenance (C2PA/SynthID). The only layer that can justify a strong-signal result.

02

Auxiliary

Text stylometry. Contributes to the result, but is capped at moderate signals, never alone deciding a strong result.

03

Informational

File forensics, semantic analysis and visual analysis. Enrich the report, but don't change the final score.

Generic statistical detector vs. provenance verifier

Generic statistical detector
Morpes AI Detector
Delivers a single percentage chance of being AI
Delivers a categorical band, with transparency about which layer justifies the result
Treats writing patterns as proof
Stylometry is auxiliary; never alone proves a strong result
Doesn't check the file's provenance marking
Prioritizes C2PA/SynthID credentials as the primary signal

MODERATE SIGNALS

Moderate signals. There are indications of AI but also human patterns. Manual analysis of highlighted passages is recommended.

PrimaryHidden text layer

No C2PA manifest found in the PDF. Absence of C2PA doesn't prove human authorship; the chain may not exist or may have been removed.

Questions about the AI Detector

No. The result is a categorical band (no signals, weak, moderate, strong, or inconclusive signals), not a percentage. A single percentage would imply a precision that text stylometry doesn't have.
