Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Morpes platform (“Service”), operated by Morpes (“we”, “our”), you agree to these Terms of Use in full. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Service Description

Morpes is an online document-processing platform. The Service offers a free plan and prepaid paid access valid for 30 days or 1 year. Annual access releases credits monthly.

3. Accounts and Registration

To use paid features, you must create an account by providing a valid email and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity performed on your account.

4. Plans, Billing, and Expiration

Billing method: Pro and Premium are fixed-term prepaid purchases for 30 days or 1 year. Each purchase creates one Appmax charge and does not create a subscription, automatic renewal, or authorization for a future charge. Credit packs are also standalone purchases.

Total cost: before confirmation, checkout shows the total price, access period, annual-plan monthly credit allowance, and absence of automatic renewal. Price changes apply only to future purchases and never reduce the monthly minimum for an annual purchase already paid.

End of period: no cancellation is required. Pro or Premium access remains available through the stated end date, after which the account automatically returns to Free. Continuing requires a new express purchase.

Initial payment failure: if Pix, card, or boleto payment is not approved or cleared, paid access is not granted. Morpes does not schedule a new charge; another attempt requires your action. See the Purchases, Access Periods, and Refund Policy.

5. Credits and Usage Limits

Credits are internal Service-use units, have no monetary value, are non-transferable, and cannot be redeemed for cash. A 30-day purchase releases one credit allowance when payment is confirmed. An annual purchase releases one allowance for each month of access, up to 12 allowances. The number of credits included in plans, offers, and benefits may evolve as the product develops, becomes more secure, and improves; changes that reduce that number apply only to the Free plan and future purchases. The minimum monthly allowance for an annual purchase is the amount shown at checkout when purchased. We may grant more credits through product improvements during the annual period, but will not reduce that minimum for an annual purchase already paid. There is no automatic replenishment when access ends. Standalone credit-pack credits do not expire and are consumed under the rules displayed in the Service.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for illegal or unauthorized purposes;
• Process files containing malware or malicious content;
• Attempt to access internal systems or circumvent usage limits;
• Share your account with third parties.

7. Privacy and Data

Your files are processed securely and automatically deleted after processing. See our Privacy Policy for details on data collection, use, and protection.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that (a) the Service will meet your requirements; (b) the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; (c) any results or information obtained through the Service will be accurate or reliable; or (d) any defects in the Service will be corrected.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Morpes shall not be liable for any indirect, punitive, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including loss of profits, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to the use of, or inability to use, the Service.

Morpes's aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the use of the Service shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the amounts actually paid by you to Morpes during the twelve (12) months prior to the date the claim arose; or (b) one hundred reais (R$ 100). This limitation applies to all causes of action in the aggregate, including but not limited to breach of contract, breach of warranty, negligence, and strict liability.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you. In such jurisdictions, Morpes's liability shall be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

9. Modifications

We may update these Terms and Service features to fix issues, improve security, or follow technical changes. For material changes, we will give at least 30 days’ notice by email and/or a prominent in-product notice, including the effective date. A change will not reduce the price, access period, or minimum monthly allowance of an annual purchase already paid. If a material change makes it impossible to maintain the contracted service, we will offer a proportional refund for unused whole months, without limiting rights required by law. Continued use after the effective date accepts changes applicable to future purchases and the free plan.

11. AI Detector — Limitations and Liability

The AI Detector tool (pdf.detect_ai) audits authorship and provenance using C2PA, file forensics, stylometry, semantic verification, and visual analysis. The final band is determined only by C2PA (L1) and stylometry (L3). The remaining layers are informational and do not influence the score. The report presents signals and confidence bands, never a binary verdict.

The user acknowledges and agrees that:

• The report does not constitute definitive proof of human or AI authorship. Statistical signals can be defeated by paraphrasing, human editing, or use of rewriting tools.
• Formal or academic human text (e.g., ABNT-standard dissertations) may generate false positives. Thresholds are not calibrated with a PT-BR/ABNT corpus and the false positive rate has not been measured or published in the report.
• The absence of a C2PA manifest does not prove human authorship — it may never have been created, may have been removed, or the document may predate the standard.
• The report is not sole evidence for high-impact decisions, including but not limited to: academic integrity, legal proceedings, labor disputes, or any decision affecting the reputation, career, or legal status of third parties.
• The detector is provided "as is", without warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any purpose. Morpes does not guarantee that the report correctly reflects the authorship of the document.
• The cryptographic verification of the report (hash and verification URL) attests only that the report was generated by Morpes on the indicated date. Verification does not attest to the correctness of the report's conclusions.
• The report reflects the state of the document at the time of analysis. Subsequent modifications to the document invalidate the report. Morpes is not liable for reports presented about documents that were altered after analysis.
• An "inconclusive" result indicates that the analysis layers could not produce a valid signal — this does not constitute a failure by Morpes and does not give rise to a refund right beyond what is provided in the Refund Policy.

Morpes is not liable for decisions made solely on the basis of the detector report. The report should be used as a complementary signal alongside other forms of analysis and evidence.

The user indemnifies and holds harmless Morpes, its affiliates, directors, employees, and suppliers from any claims, lawsuits, damages, judgments, costs, and attorneys' fees arising from the use of the report to accuse third parties of AI use. Morpes is not a party to disputes between the user and third parties.

Morpes's liability for any damage arising from the use of the detector is limited to the amount paid by the user for the specific analysis that generated the report (in credits or equivalent monetary value).

In no event shall Morpes be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, reputation, data, or other intangible losses, arising from the use or inability to use the detector.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Morpes, its affiliates, directors, employees, agents, and suppliers from and against all claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights; (d) your User Content; (e) any dispute between you and any third party arising from your use of the Service.

Morpes reserves the right to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with our defense. You shall not settle any claim without our prior written consent.

13. Force Majeure

Morpes shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to: (a) acts of God, natural disasters, earthquakes, floods, fires; (b) epidemic, pandemic, or other public health emergency; (c) war, invasion, hostilities, terrorist activities, riots, or civil unrest; (d) government actions, laws, regulations, embargoes, or sanctions; (e) labor disputes, strikes, or work stoppages; (f) power outages, telecommunications failures, or Internet service disruptions; (g) third-party service provider failures; (h) cyberattacks, including denial-of-service attacks, hacking, or malware; (i) any other event beyond Morpes's reasonable control.

Our obligations shall be suspended for the duration of such circumstances. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of such circumstances and their expected duration.

14. Dispute Resolution

Before initiating any arbitration or court proceeding, you agree to first contact us and attempt to resolve the dispute informally by sending a written notice describing the dispute to [email protected]. We will attempt to resolve the dispute within thirty (30) days. If the dispute is not resolved within this period, either party may proceed with formal dispute resolution.

Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the Arbitration Chamber of São Paulo (FIESP/CIESP) in accordance with its rules then in effect. The arbitration shall be conducted in São Paulo, Brazil, in the Portuguese language. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. If for any reason a claim proceeds in court rather than in arbitration, you and Morpes each waive any right to a jury trial.

15. Time Limitation on Claims

Any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service must be filed within one (1) year after such claim arose, or the claim is permanently barred. This limitation applies regardless of whether you knew or should have known of the facts giving rise to the claim.

16. Survival and General Provisions

Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall remain in effect, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnification, and limitations of liability.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect and enforceable.

Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws that cannot be lawfully limited or excluded.
